Carey Roberts wrote an excellent article concerning the grossly misleading statistics on human trafficking.
No one knows the extent to which human trafficking exists around the world, but many believe able-bodied males represent the most vulnerable group. A recent United Nations report, Trafficking in Persons: Global Patterns, noted, “it is men especially who might be expected to be trafficked for forced labor purposes.”
There are those who would have us believe that the misfortunes of women are somehow more compelling, and therefore they are more deserving of human rights protections.
That bias is also found in the legislation of many countries. According to the Trafficking in Persons report, “In many countries, the laws relevant to human trafficking are restricted in their application solely to women. . . In addition, many service providers limit their support and protection only to female and child victims. Thus, exploitation through forced labor is often quite unlikely to come to the attention of those dealing with victims.”
I’m sure some liberals and a great deal of feminists might deny males face any real risk, but the point Roberts highlights the most is that there is little information available on male victims of human trafficking because no one bothers to collect that data. It is incredibly easy to deny that male human trafficking occurs if people cover their eyes. As Roberts points out:
It is high irony that some segments of a movement that purports to advance human rights would deem half the world’s population as less worthy of attention and concern. That stance, morally repugnant and intellectually indefensible, undermines the very notion of human rights for all.
Unfortunately, this stance has become quite common among human rights groups, many of whom present human rights issues in the world as minority and women’s issues
Yeah, I guess that kind of attitude is pretty typical in situation where people with a certain narrow focus exert political pressure – they miss the bigger picture and what could have been a really worthy cause becomes quite absurd. I am tired of being the bad guy (white male). What gives everyone else the moral high ground?

Its because those promoting women as victims aren’t really interested in protecting human rights, they are interested in violating them.
Yes, this is like the World Soccer Cup prostituion crisis that never happened.
The humanitarian groups predicted that 40,000 women would be forced to prostitute themselves in Germany.
What really happened is that there was less prostitution than occurs normally.

Of course, the humanitarian organization tok credit for solving a crisis that never happenned in the first place.
Wow. I did not realize people played that kind of politics abroad.
What about the slave trade still going on in Africa? You barely hear about that. ANd most of it is near Benin and other parts of the Ivory Coast.
But here is another thing you rarely, if ever, hear: some women go into these prostitution rings to try to help their families because they are so poor and desperate they need the money wherever they can find it. These countries often don’t have adequet – if any – welfare.
One thing that causes feminism to be biased, besides men hating vaginalists, is misandrist-chivalrist males that want nothing to do with protecting and abetting their sexual competitors. One could say it ain’t ALL the femmes fault if it weren’t for the fact that they use this male bias among males to further their agenda.
[...] About two weeks ago I posted about Joe Quesada’s non-sexist remark that got quite a few feminists fans angry with me. It was not anything specific that I said about women, merely that I did not agree with their assertions and was willing to challenge them. Following that, my views spiked from 21 to 200 literally within four hours. The post beneath Joe was about the trafficking of males into slavery. Now in all fairness, that post did get more views once it was linked onto MND. But prior to that, it got squat. [...]
