Much in the same vein as “This Week in the News,” the Bulletin Board will list news stories and also blog and forum posts. It should be noted at I do not necessarily endorse or support the items linked. I simply find them to be interesting and/or relevant to the issues discussed on this blog. As the weeks go by, each new “volume” will be added to a page link, that way the way easily available without having to do a search or hunt through all my posts (not that I am suggesting not to hunt through the posts).
Did FOX News Commentator Rachel Marsden Make a False Accusation of Rape? — Salon.com has an interesting article by Rebecca Traister which presents evidence that FOX News commentator Rachel Marsden falsely accused a Canadian professor of rape, seriously damaging the man’s career and life. According to Traister, Marsden had been very dismissive of the damage caused to the falsely accused Duke University lacrosse players, and perhaps had her own, personal reasons for it.
Innocent boy’s jail nightmare — A 16-YEAR-OLD boy who was acquitted on Friday night of multiple rape was locked up for almost a year awaiting trial. Patrick Waring, then a 15-year-old Catholic college student, was dragged out of bed by police a year ago and refused bail on nothing but the say-so of a lying 17-year-old girl who cried rape. Just before the trial started, the girl admitted lying about her sex life the whole time. She had insisted she was a virgin. DNA tests excluded Patrick from her claims of rape.
Josh Osborne’s Amazing Recovery — The name “Joshua Osborne” may not be remembered, but these troubling images most likely are. These are pictures of the boy’s body, nearly starved to death by his own parents. For two years, Joshua claims he was chained like an animal to the bed of his parents’ Lebanon home. His weight dipped to a staggering 49 pounds.
NOW Embraces Hillary. Will she hug Back? — The Legacy Media are touting the endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential bid by the political arm of the National Organization for Women (NOW). Hillary should have thought twice before accepting NOW’s endorsement. NOW began in 1966 when Betty Friedan claimed to speak for all American women. The women’s group has come a long way since those times –– a long way, the wrong way. After 40 years, a whole new generation of women is questioning the feminist myths that have produced so much devastation for America’s families in general and most especially for the children.
‘Paedophile hysteria’ is putting men off teaching says Boris Johnson — Boris Johnson said school staffrooms are increasingly dominated by female teachers because men are afraid of attracting false child abuse allegations. He spoke out after figures revealed women now outnumber men by 13 to one in primary schools – which have been worst-hit by the male recruitment slump.
Sadistic Foster Mom a Devout Jehovah’s Witness – Twice-divorced foster mom Eunice Spry, of Tewkesbury, Glos, has been found guilty at Bristol crown court of 26 charges of cruelty and assault. This Jehovah’s Witness has shown no sympathy for her victims, nor accepted any blame for torturing three children over a period of almost 20 years.
States do nothing to stop sexual violence in prison — States willfully allow cruel and unusual punishment to be performed on adult prisoners. Take the case of Stephen Donaldson. He attended a pray-in to end the Vietnam War at the White House in 1973 and was arrested. In state care, he was repeatedly gang-raped. From this, he contracted HIV, then AIDS, then died. In effect, because the state did not stop activity within its control, it condemned him to death for his peace protest. This is a common result of prison rape, because rates of HIV in prison are five to 10 times greater than the population as a whole.

Women Can Be Abusive, Too — A revealing research paper on domestic violence (DV) published in the Florida State University Law Review provides a promising new twist to a thorny problem – assuming, of course, it can overcome stereotypcal attitudes and get the attention it deserves. According to author and Indiana School of Law Professor Linda Kelly, women can be batterers. Men can be victims. And abuse by females needs to be eradicated, as well as abuse by males.
Woman says dog tore off her baby boy’s genitals, but officials doubt her story — A woman with a history of drug abuse says she woke up from a nap to find her miniature dachshund had torn off her baby boy’s genitals. Authorities have doubts about her story, but exactly how the newborn was maimed is still a mystery. Holden Gothia, now 7 weeks old, was found on a bed in his mother’s suburban Houston apartment March 13, covered in blood. His genitals were severed and there was a deep cut in his upper leg.
