There is something about Linkin Park that always drew me in. It goes beyond their music, beyond the lyrics. Perhaps their songs touched whatever spark of emotion that is left in me. I cannot say for certain. What I can say is that their songs sound incredibly familiar, as if some of my ramblings were written in meters and set to music. I always found for presumptuous for me to think the lyrics were cryptic commentary about similar experiences. However, I recently discovered that Chester Bennington experienced abuse as a child. I think that explains the obvious passion he puts into his lyrics. In an odd way, Linkin Park’s music feels for me.
Honestly, it is difficult to pick just one song, but I have gone quite fond of the last track from their latest album, The Little Things Give You Away.
