Mike Willden, head of the state Department of Health and Human Services which oversees the Nevada Youth Training Center, said the facility was advised it’s in “full compliance” with all provisions of a 2004 agreement with the Justice Department.
MP backs off on sex ‘contracts’ — South Australian Independent MP Ann Bressington says comments she made about men needing signed consent from women to protect themselves from false rape allegations were tongue in cheek. Ms Bressington made the comments in the South Australian Parliament yesterday and supported them on ABC radio again today in her rejection of proposed changes to SA rape laws. It could become an offence to continue a sex act with someone after consent if they later changed their mind.
Netivot mother held for sexual abuse of 2 young sons — A mother of eight children from Netivot was arrested yesterday on suspicion that she sexually abused two of her sons, 8 and 11. Police said she admitted to the charge. The woman, 38, was brought before the Be’er Sheva Magistrate’s Court yesterday for a remand hearing. Last year the children were removed from their home by court order and transferred to boarding schools and foster families after social workers determined that their mother was mentally unstable and could not control her children. The parents are divorced and the father does not live in Netivot.
Pediatrician in Sex Abuse Case ‘Volunteered’ to Step Aside — According to a civil lawsuit filed in Suffolk Superior Court by Boston attorney Carmen Durso, Dr. Melvin D. Levine, “sexually assaulted, battered and abused” the plaintiff, identified in court papers as John Doe No. 5, during psychotherapy sessions at the hospital from 1980 and 1985, starting when the boy was 8.
Police arrest woman for alleged child sex abuse — Hudson police have arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly undressing with a 5-year-old and asking the boy to touch her private area, an arrest report stated. As of Thursday evening, Misty Parker of Hudson remained in Angelina County Jail on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
Psychologist Pleads Not Guilty To Teen Rape — A county psychologist who had been appointed by the court to counsel a 14-year-old male teen has pleaded not guilty to raping him. Jennifer A. Hastings, 32, of Sand Lake, an employee of the Rensselaer County Unified Family Services, has been charged second degree rape, a felony, for allegedly having sexual contact with her patient on several occasions including in her car, area motels and her Sand Lake residence.
Putnam woman charged in sex abuse case — A Culloden woman has been arrested for allowing her husband to have sex with a 14-year-old girl, a month after her husband was charged, according to Putnam County court records. Mima Jane Parsons, 42, was charged last week with being an accessory to sexual abuse and being an accessory to incest.
Scout leader jailed for sex assaults on boy — Stephen Davies, 48, used his role as a scout leader to befriend the boy before he starting his series of sexual assaults. Davies took advantage of a camping trip to Tintern Abbey to rape the boy in nearby woods. The abuse started in 1990 when the boy was 11 and continued until the boy reached 16, Cardiff Crown Court was told.
Watchdog investigates police over allegations — THE actions of police officers in a case where a man from Tenbury Wells died after receiving death threats from a man he had accused of raping him are being investigated by a police watchdog. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is looking to see whether West Mercia Constabulary handled a series of allegations made by Adrian Palmer correctly before his body was discovered in an alleyway in Tenbury Wells in May, 2006.
Woman admits sex assault on boy — A married mother has admitted sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Jane Attwood, 36, fondled the teenager before carrying out a sex act on him and making him perform one on her in a central London cinema. The day after, the boy’s mother became suspicious when Attwood called the boy, who then confessed to the incident.
Woman suspected of having sex with minor — Carol Austin was taken into custody on suspicion of lewd acts upon a child and unlawful sex with a minor. According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, she is also being held on a charge of continuous sexual abuse upon a child. Austin is being held on a $100,000 bail. Police said the alleged sexual relationship between Austin and the teenager started when he was 13.
