Roger Bart Sherwood, 46, who was convicted in 1988 of raping a young woman at St. Margaret’s Shrine, filed suit Wednesday in Superior Court against the Bridgeport Roman Catholic Diocese and former priest Martin Federici claiming Federici sexually assaulted him on numerous occasions at both Our Lady of Assumption Church and School on Stratfield Road in Fairfield.

Man sentenced to 15 years for possession of child pornography — A convicted sex offender from North Las Vegas has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for the receipt and possession of child pornography, officials said. Ezra Hallock, 43, has a prior felony conviction in Idaho for sexual abuse of a minor and was subject to a 15-year minimum mandatory sentence under federal law, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release. U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan sentenced Hallock to 15 years in prison and lifetime of supervised release.

Woman, 50, faces second sex abuse charge — An Ottawa woman who once worked at a school for children with disabilities is now facing two new charges in relation to the alleged sexual abuse of a second young male. Francine Desormeaux, 50, turned herself in to police on charges of gross indecency and indecent assault on a male after a second complainant came forward with allegations against her following her arrest on similar charges in April.
Woman pleads guilty to assault, child abuse — A 35-year-old woman accused of assaulting and abusing two minors pleaded guilty yesterday to the charges in the Superior Court of Guam. Vina Tomichy Nachuo entered a guilty plea to charges of aggravated assault as a third-degree felony and child abuse as a misdemeanor. Nachuo faces 10 months in jail and a $1,000 fine for the assault charge, and a year in jail and another $1,000 fine for the child abuse charge. She may serve those sentences concurrently. She also must stay away from the victims of the crime.
