A Dose of Stupid v43

It happens every day. In fact, it is pretty hard to avoid it. There are some things that can only be understood with a slap on the forehead. Things so mind-boggling that one wonders how humans managed to evolve thumbs while being this mentally inept. Case in point:

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s speech in Iowa about the national debt.

It is truly one of those things you have to see to believe. According to the Congresswoman, there was no racism, no classism, no religious discrimination. According to her, the founding fathers, which she claimed included John Quincy Adams, abolished slavery. The only thing I could think after listening to her speech is that if she keeps this up, Stephen Colbert will be out of a job.

  1. Oh wow. I’m not sure there’s anything between those ears of hers. She talks of facts, but there’s precious few coming out of her mouth. Truly comedy of a most entertaining kind.

  2. I’m curious if those who find her speech so inane, revolting, and indicative of gross stupidity are down on her because (1) she really is inane, revolting, and grossly stupid, or (2) she’s a tea-party conservative riling their liberal sensitivities, or (3) she’s a woman who should just shut up and let the men lead?

Yes, believe it or not, people can be like that no matter what party affiliation.

Uno Hu: (2) she’s a tea-party conservative riling their liberal sensitivities

No party holds a monopoly on ignorance.

Uno Hu: (3) “she’s a woman who should just shut up and let the men lead?”

Cliche strawman times ten with this.

The person’s gender is irrelevant. Nor does her being a woman mean she should shut up and let “men lead”.

  4. ” (3) she’s a woman who should just shut up and let the men lead?”

Wow. You heard it here first, because no feminist site would be caught dead with such childish, whiny special pleading.
