Babysitter charged with sexually abusing one-year-old in her care and sending video footage to Marine boyfriend in Afghanistan — A woman was arrested over allegedly sexually abusing a one-year-old child she was babysitting and sending videos of the abuse to her boyfriend serving in Afghanistan. Inez Carmaneesh Mon Lambert, 24, from Portland, Oregon, is charged with seven counts each of serious sexual assault, first-degree sex abuse and using a child in the display of sexually-explicit conduct. The day-care provider, who works at an LA Fitness, was arrested this morning.

Man, 63, jailed for 14 years over sex abuse of boys in Keighley –A 63-year-old paedophile has been jailed for 14 years for the systematic sexual abuse of vulnerable boys. Barry McNulty was convicted at Leeds Crown Court yesterday of raping and molesting the youngsters when he lived in Keighley over a period of 15 years. McNulty, now of Wingfield Nursing Home, Bingley, was found guilty by a jury of two offences of rape, five of indecent assault, five of indecency with a male child, three of sexual activity with a boy under 16 and two sexual assaults on boys.

Man sentenced to 25 years for operating Thailand brothel for pedophile sex tourists — A Canadian man was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison for running a brothel out of his Thailand home that catered to pedophile tourists from around the world. “For more than 40 years, he’s molested children, some as young as age 3,” U.S. District Judge Dennis M. Cavanaugh said in sentencing John Wrenshall, who was arrested in London’s Heathrow Airport in late 2008 after a global manhunt and extradited to New Jersey.

Police accused of hiding evidence in rape case — OFFICERS from the Australian Federal Police allegedly stole and concealed documents that could have helped a former pilot and businessman fight allegations he had raped a 14-year-old girl in PNG. Fred Martens, a millionaire working in Papua New Guinea, served more than 2½ years in prison after being convicted under Australian child sex tourism laws. But after his family found some of the missing documents he earned a rare second appeal in November 2009 and had his conviction quashed.

Police urge more Bradford men to report abuse — Police are urging male victims of domestic violence in Bradford to put their macho feelings to one side and report crimes against them. Officers admit there is an under-reporting of such offences, but insist abused men will have their complaints investigated in exactly the same way as female victims. State settles ‘horrific’ Seattle child-abuse case for $6.55 million — The state Department of Social and Health Services reached a $6.55 million settlement Tuesday in a horrific child abuse case involving six Seattle boys who were starved, locked in a closet, and sexually and physically abused for years. The case – a lawsuit filed by the children’s grandmother – had been scheduled to start trial Tuesday in King County Superior Court. “I think DSHS did the right thing, finally, for this grandmother and her grandchildren,” the grandmother’s attorney, Blaine Tamaki, said in a statement.

Stoke-on-Trent imam guilty of sexually abusing boys — Mohammed Hanif Khan, 42, had denied charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual activity with a child. A jury at Nottingham Crown Court found Khan, of Owler Lane, Sheffield, guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual activity with a child. The offences took place at the mosque on Capper Street between July and October 2009. Khan has been remanded into custody and will be sentenced at a later date.

US Supreme Court to Hear Case Challenging Constitutionality of Jailing Parents for Inability to Pay Child Support — Fathers and Families has for many years publicized the terrible child support problems often faced by low income obligors, and we’ve had some legislative success on the issue. Nevertheless, the problem remains acute, particularly due to the recession. The injustice is typified by the case of Jeremy Lavine, one of three Fathers and Families supporters quoted in a national Associated Press article on the issue.
