Farmington woman, 51, charged with sexual assault of minor boy: Probe expanded to see if there are other victims — A Farmington woman arraigned Monday on numerous counts of sexual assault against an 11-year-old boy is being held on $15,000 cash-only bail. Farmington police report an investigation is ongoing as to whether there are other victims in the area. Laura Faas, 51, of 11 Spring Street, was arrested Friday, Aug. 3, and has been charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, one count of felonious sexual assault, one count of witness tampering and one count of false imprisonment, which is classified as a misdemeanor.
Feds probe possible Sandusky child porn ring — U.S. Postal inspectors are leading a federal investigation into whether former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky shared child pornography with other individuals, CBS News has learned. Analyzing a computer seized from Sandusky, investigators are also looking into whether he sent “seductive letters” across state lines for sexual purposes. Some of these letters were said to be sent to some of his sexual abuse victims.
Former foster mom accused of having a sexual relationship with teenager — A Lincoln woman is accused of having a two-year sexual relationship with a teenage boy who had been her foster son, according to court documents. The alleged abuse began in October 2010, when he was 17, the boy told police in May, according to a search warrant filed Friday in Lancaster County District Court. The boy, now 19, said he moved in with the woman and her husband in October 2008, according to court documents.

Police: Woodburn priest chased boy down street after abuse — It was close to midnight Sunday when Woodburn resident James Curths saw the 12-year-old boy running down the street toward him. Curths said the child, panting and out of breath, begged for help, telling him a man was chasing him. Moments later, a man rounded the corner wearing only underwear. He stood a short distance away, trying to wave the boy over as Curths and his sister-in-law prepared to drive the boy to relatives.
Texas Boy in Foster Care, Allegedly Locked in Box by Parents — A 9-year-old Texas runaway discovered by police is now in foster care, and his parents are under investigation after he said they made him live in a 6-foot by 8-foot box in their home. The boy, whose name is being withheld by police, was reported missing from the Galveston home where he lived with his father and stepmother. He was found hours later, but police were prompted to investigate the boy’s living situation when he told officers he ran away because he no longer wanted to be locked in his room.
