Attorney: L.A. schools pay ‘largest’ public settlement for child abuse at $139 million — The Los Angeles public school district will pay more than $139.2 million to the families of 81 children allegedly abused by an elementary teacher now serving a prison sentence for lewd conduct, officials said Friday. Woman enters no contest plea in child sex abuse case — The relative of a 10-year-old boy who is accused of forcing him to have sex with her, watch pornography and use sex toys on her entered a plea of no contest to five counts of child sexual abuse on Monday. Melissa Kay Anderson, 35, of Tulsa was arrested in September after the boy made the allegations to his father.
